Does your bird have any of these symptoms?
- Rapid breathing, open-mouth breathing, obvious tail bobbing: may be related to respiratory infection, environmental irritation, or cardiopulmonary issues
- Decreased appetite, weight loss: may be related to gastrointestinal problems, chronic illness, or stress
- Depression, sleepiness, fluffed feathers: commonly linked to systemic discomfort or pain—early assessment is recommended
- Changes in droppings (shape/color), abnormal elimination: may be related to dietary changes, infection, or liver/intestinal issues
- Feather loss, feather plucking, red/swollen skin or itching: may be related to stress, skin disease, parasites, or nutritional imbalance
- Vomiting, regurgitation, or crop abnormalities: may involve the crop or digestive tract—prompt evaluation is recommended
- Overgrown beak / nails, or shape changes: may be related to nutrition, metabolism, or chronic issues

Common diseases in Avian

Respiratory Infection
Bird respiratory systems are delicate and especially sensitive to environmental factors such as dust, cooking fumes, aromatherapy scents, and poor ventilation. Common signs include open-mouth breathing, rapid breathing, obvious tail bobbing, louder breathing sounds, and nasal discharge. We provide clinical assessment and relevant testing, then develop appropriate treatment and nursing recommendations. For more severe cases, oxygen support and hospitalization may be arranged to stabilize the condition.

Nutritional Imbalance & Metabolism-Related Problems
Long-term unbalanced diets (for example, relying too heavily on seeds and lacking nutritional variety) may lead to abnormal body weight, poorer feather quality, reduced energy, and excessive beak/nail growth, along with other metabolic issues. We provide specific guidance on diet ratios, supplementation, and husbandry, and when needed, support this with lab work and diagnostic imaging to identify causes and create an improvement plan.

Crop / Gastrointestinal Problems
If a bird shows reduced appetite, vomiting, regurgitation, crop enlargement, or abnormal droppings, this may be related to crop or gastrointestinal disease. Diagnosis typically combines history, clinical examination, and necessary tests to determine whether infection, inappropriate diet, or other medical issues are involved, followed by appropriate treatment and husbandry adjustments.

Skin & Feather Problems (Feather Plucking / Abnormal Feathers)
Feather loss, feather plucking, red/swollen skin, or itching may be associated with stress, behavioral issues, parasites, dermatitis, or nutritional imbalance. We assess skin and feather condition and provide recommendations on environmental enrichment, behavior management, and dietary adjustments to improve skin/feather health and reduce relapse risk.
